Create personalized messages and identify gender makeup of your mailing list for more targeted marketing
Name Object takes full names, such as “John James Smith”, and breaks it into First, Middle, and Last Names, as well as any titles, generational suffixes or other information. Name Object can even correct misspelled first names, like “Jonh” to “John”. In addition to standard Full Name fields, Name Object can also parse:
• Dual (Mr and Mrs John and Mary Smith Jr)
• Inverse (Smith Jr., Mr. John James)
• Mixed First (Mr. John L.) and Mixed Last (Smith, Jr.) when a field is not consistently populated with one format
Apply a gender code to each name
Name Object will indicate the gender of the person in your database or mailing list based on the first name. For instance, “James” returns an “M” for male and “Cheryl” an “F” for female. For names like “Chris” and “Tracy” which can be either male or female, an “N” for neutral is returned. However, otherwise Neutral names can be assigned a gender based on ‘gender bias’ and ‘assignment aggression’ properties or by overriding the Name Object name database data.
Catch vulgar words that lead to waste and fraud
Name Object will also flag names containing possible vulgar words, nuisance names, and associated company words to help you screen out possible hoaxes and pranks.
Create custom salutations
Once you’ve parsed your names, identified neutral names and removed non-name records, Name Object can create the desired custom salutations based on the desired salutation format (Formal, Informal, default Slug, etc.) and parsed name parts returned.
Use with programs written in a variety of languages:
Delphi, C, C+ +, Visual FoxPro, Oracle, Power Builder, Visual Basic,
J Script, VB Script, and more.
