USPS Move Update Adjudication
The USPS recently presented it’s most recent and, as far as we can tell, final position on Move Update Compliance and adjudication. Effective January 4, 2010 penalties for non-compliance of the move update rules put in place on November 23, 2008 will begin to take effect.
Using Performance Based Verification (PBV) a sample will be taken from the mailing and run through MERLIN. MERLIN will be lifting names and addresses and transmitting that data to the NCSC in Memphis checking for change-of-addresses (COA) that have occurred between 95 days and 18 months.

May 2011 Rate Change- Are You Ready?
Mailers must be using the Intelligent Mail barcode on their mail as of May 2011 in order to qualify for automation prices. Planet Code bar codes will no longer be in effect after the May 2011 deadline. The extra data and tracking capabilities available through IMb. Even basic IMb can track mail and predict delivery dates. Those using Full-Service IMb will receive mail feedback about address quality and get automated address correction information...

The United States Postal Service launched a campaign today to increase awareness and create results for energy conservation at a “Turning Over a Green Leaf” event in celebration of Earth Day.

November 23, 2008 NCOA Move Update
In November 2008, the USPS began requiring NCOA processing with every presort mailing, weather it be first class or standard class. You must be processing your records once every 95 days and if every mailing has unique records, you MUST NCOA process EVERY time you do a mailing.
