Walk Sequencing allows customers to increase discounts on qualified mailings by 5 cents to 15 cents per mail piece, or a minimum of 10 cents per flat. This could be a saving of thousands of dollars per year.
The Walk Sequence service sorts a list into the order the carrier walks their route. The Walk Sequencing add-on is for high density jobs (125 pieces per carrier route), with saturation of 75% of the carrier route or 90% of the residential addresses in that carrier route.
The Walk Sequence add-on
calculates the position for each address in a list
and returns a Walk Sequence number. This number is unique for that list. If the list is combined with another or is over 90 days, this list must be recalculated. The number is used during the sort to order the
addresses and generate the correct paperwork
How does this add-on work? Typically it is one flat annual price with no minimum fees and any size list. This add-on can be incorporated into a job easily, and Walk Sequence append is automated.
Which jobs qualify? Walk Sequence is valid for Periodicals and Standard Mail, with flats getting especially good discounts. It doesn't
require much extra preparation. The dense local mailings are most eligible; for example utilities, local newspapers, and local businesses.
